SURFACE FAULT HAZARDS INVESTIGATION, ANKETELL PORT SITE, WEST PILBARA INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT, WESTERN AUSTRALIA

This Desktop Study analyzed potential surface faulting hazards to the proposed Anketell Port site and its onshore and offshore components, as commissioned by the WorleyParsons-Perth office. The northwest coast of Australia has one of the highest rates of seismicity in the country, and recent mapping revealed active (Quaternary) faults south of Pilbara onshore, and west of Pilbara offshore. We utilized client-supplied 2 m LiDAR and bathymetric DEMs to map and interpret bedrock faults and lineaments with regard to late Quaternary faulting.
